Bilsay Varcin



Bilsay earned his undergraduate degree in environmental engineering in Turkey. After working for two years designing waste water treatment plants, he moved to the United States and completed his master’s degree in  Applied Economics—with a focus on resource, energy and demand analysis—at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Bilsay is passionate about automating processes, making things easier for the client and finding efficiency in everyday tasks.

  • How did you get into the clean energy field?

    I was an environmental engineer coming out of undergrad. I am passionate about conservation and using less to make things more efficient. After completing my master’s program, energy consultancy was the natural next step.

  • When do you have the most fun at work?

    I enjoy getting in the zone and focusing deeply on a tough project.

  • Where is your favorite spot in the world?

    It is hard to pick a favorite spot. I have enjoyed traveling in Italy and Berlin and visiting family in Turkey.

  • How do you spend your time when you’re not working?

    In the winter, I enjoy snowboarding. When it’s warmer, I enjoy traveling, hiking and camping.
