Krys is a master at drawing out and distilling the true significance of energy research—refining content and visualizing results—to ensure client satisfaction. He smoothly guides the team from draft to final product, whether that be a proposal for new work or a piece of thought leadership. Before joining EMI, Krys worked as a college English teacher, a supervisor at an animal hospital, and a trainer at a call center. He balances multiple complex projects and always has his manual of style nearby.

What are you passionate about? What are the ideas that drive you?
Precision. Saying exactly what we mean to highlight the value of what we offer. I really like that we’re working on energy efficiency and sustainability, and, especially in the last year, thinking about the future of this industry. How far can we push that vision to make it the best possible scenario? It will be very inspiring to see where that goes.
When do you have the most fun at work?
When our spirit of collaboration is evident. It’s in our work with clients and how we interact with one another, from our collaborative lunches (where we share findings or brainstorm to develop internal tools) to the themed playlists we build together on Fridays.
How do you spend your time when you’re not working?
Chilling with my toddler. Maybe chilling is not the right word.
